"Growing up in Southern California, it was often 80 degrees on Christmas Day. We spent a lot of time outside and without air conditioners. I vividly remember all my friends' backyard gardens and in all the secret places we would play. We used to love to try and find George the turtle who was always hiding under ferns and large rocks.
We were so excited once we found him.
The gardens with ponds were my favorite. Hearing the trickling water and feeling the cool misty air nearby was a feeling unlike any other. I felt connected to something that calmed my soul;
imagining other worlds beneath the surface."
